Additional Programs
SCHMOOZDAYS
Our popular “Schmoozday” gatherings are a chance to get together and simply enjoy each other’s company on an informal basis. We meet about every 4-6 weeks, usually early on a weekday morning for breakfast at a local restaurant before everyone goes on their way. We are considering adding some evening and/or weekend co-ed get-together’s so that others can be included.
Notification of each date is made through our monthly congregation e-mails, on our Facebook page, and to our separate Schmoozday e-mail list. Newcomers are always welcome, so if you would like to be added to our Schmoozday e-mail list, just let us know.
25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
The 2020 High Holy Days will mark our 25th year, and we hope to make this year a special one. Watch for announcements of special activities in our monthly e-mails and on our Facebook page. If you would like to be added to our e-mail list, just let us know.
OTHER PROGRAMMING
We also seek to offer a variety of volunteer-organized programs designed to perk an interest in, and to enrich our community involvement, while fostering our Jewish friendships.
In the past, our additional programming has included Saturday night Havdalahs which offer an opportunity to socialize in members’ homes following a brief, joyous ceremony bidding the Sabbath farewell, and have held Hanukah parties and Passover seders, dinners out, trips to a museum or play, book and discussion groups, and more.
We welcome new ideas as well! We would love to offer more of these opportunities in the coming year to foster our Jewish friendships outside of the monthly service/oneg setting, so if you would like to host or organize an activity or program, please send us an email or call 815-455-9236 and we’ll gladly discuss your ideas with you and help you bring them to fruition!
